Amari for Gmail — Privacy Policy

Effective October 16th 2026

Amari for Gmail is an add-on that helps licensed customs brokers work their inbox. When you open an email, it shows the shipment the email is about, the documents received and still missing, upcoming deadlines, and a reply you can choose to send. It is provided by Amari AI Inc. This page explains what the add-on reads, what we keep, and the choices you have.

What the add-on reads

Only when you open an email with the add-on, and only while it's open, Google gives the add-on access to:

  • That email and the other emails in the same conversation, including their attachments.
  • Your email address, so we show you only your own company's shipments.

The add-on can't see the rest of your mailbox, and it never reads email in the background.

How we use it

We use this data only to run the add-on for you:

  • To work out which shipment an email belongs to, using details such as container, bill of lading and entry numbers.
  • To list the documents received, show what's still missing, and track customs deadlines.
  • To draft replies. When you approve a reply, Amari places it as a draft in the same Gmail conversation. You review and send it yourself. Amari never sends email for you.
  • To fix problems and improve the accuracy of the add-on for your company, for example when you click "This doesn't look right".

To read and draft, we use AI services, including Anthropic's Claude, under terms that don't let them train their models on your data.

What we keep

  • The emails and attachments in conversations you open, and the shipment details we derive from them, such as identifiers, documents, deadlines and drafts.
  • A record of what you do in the add-on, such as approving a draft or flagging an issue, and when you opened an email.

We keep this for 90 days, or until your company's agreement with Amari ends, whichever comes first, and then delete it. Data is stored in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to the people and systems that run the service.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
  • We don't use it to train general-purpose AI models.
  • We don't share it with anyone except the service providers that run Amari (hosting, database, AI processing and error tracking), who may use it only to provide their service to us, or when the law requires it.

When people at Amari see your email

Amari staff look at your emails only:

  • with your affirmative agreement to view the specific emails, and your company's agreement, for example to review and improve the add-on's drafts;
  • to investigate a security issue or abuse; or
  • when the law requires it.

Your choices

Google API data

Amari's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and its effective date, and tell your company before any change in how we use Gmail data takes effect.
